Cavity wall insulation installed when it was already installed at build stage

I had cavity wall insulation installed 12 years ago,I have the CIGA 25 year guarrantee certificate,I have now discovered during a kitchen upgrade that the house already had cavity wall insulation installed at build stage,so not only did I pay for retrospective insulation that was not required, what about all the holes drilled into the walls that do not need to be there.
What would be the chances of succesfully matching up brickwork and mortar that is 27 years old and at what cost, they also tried drilling where the party wall is before they discovered their mistake, they did not refill these holes either.I only discovered them years later as they were obscured by climbing ivy,I refilled them myself and was unable to match the mortar colour very well.Has this affected the value of my house,do you think I have a valid claim for compensation.Any advice appreciated

I imagine that some different coloured mortar will make no difference whatever to the value of your house ( How would anyone begin to quantify such a difference if it existed)andylek said:I had cavity wall insulation installed 12 years ago,I have the CIGA 25 year guarrantee certificate,I have now discovered during a kitchen upgrade that the house already had cavity wall insulation installed at build stage,so not only did I pay for retrospective insulation that was not required, what about all the holes drilled into the walls that do not need to be there.
I would forget about even contacting anyone about something that happened 12 years ago. They are likely to tell you that they contracted to top up any existing insulation and tell you to do one.0 -
This was 12 years ago. They will certainly tell you where to go if you try to make a claim. I'm not even sure what you would try and claim for.
Just forget about it and move on.0 -

I would forget about even contacting anyone about something that happened 12 years ago. They are likely to tell you that they contracted to top up any existing insulation and tell you to do one.I am not talking about different colour mortar for gods sake!!!!that was just a side commentWhat i am saying is if the house was already insulated at build stage then when they put the boroscope camera in they should have said that insulation was not needed as is stated on the energysavingtrust website,it is only suitable for unfilled cavity walls. There is no sign of the polystyrene ball type insulation that they used because there is no where for it to go ,the cavity is already full of a rockwool type of material. Why did they charge me for something that didnt need doing and drill loads of unsightly holes all with a 25 year guarrantee,so thats 13 years left to go on something that i didnt need doing. When i said any advice appreciated, well, i'll have to think twice before I type that again
