Paypal Credit - refund of item already cleared off.

Hi All,
After a bit of guidance from anyone who may know where we stand on this - we paid a holiday balance of £1000 back in Feb using Paypal credit (to get the 4 months 0%) - this was all paid off within 4 months, so no charges etc. More recently we've used paypal credit's 12 month 0% offer for ~£500 of other items - the current outstanding balance on paypal is say £450 (none of this is the holiday - thats) - we've now had a refund on the holiday, but paypal have cleared the full credit balance and is now showing a balance of -£550. Ideally we want the £1000 refunded back to us and we'll keep the remaning credit purchases on PP credit.

The questions i have are;
1) Can they use the refund to cover all other items that we don't want paid off (they are 0%, and only recently put on credit!)? - would normal credit cards do this?
2) if it's not possible to get the full £1000, how do we go about getting the remaining £550 back ?
Thanks in advance for any help :)

    1) Yes and yes.
    2) Ask them to send it to you.

    I have a similar situation, paid for flights at the start of the year, paid the balance off and then received a refund.
    Paypal are refusing to send me the credit, even though my balance is cleared with them.  They've told me I have to spend it!
