Travel insurance claim help

Booked for Florida beginning of September- friend is the lead passenger and has paid the balance of the holiday using her credit card. She also has travel insurance booked before March(annual policy) where as I do not (silly mistake on my part) - if we did have to claim, would she be able to claim all the balance due to the fact she used her card? Or would I need to have had insurance to claim on my behalf? Any help appreciated.

It’s likely she will only be covered for her own costs. However that depends on her having a valid claim which is covered under her policy. That’s not guaranteed. It’s very possible that travel will be open for Florida by then.0

I am due to fly to Spain on 6th July for 4 nights flying with Ryanair. My insurance from Insureforless states that I'm not covered for cancellation if for "prohibitive measures of any government" and also if I fly contrary to FCO advise the policy would be invalid. If Ryanair go ahead with my flight on 6th July contrary to any FCO advise on that day I will not fly and will lose my money. This seems so wrong - how can they expect people to fly without insurance?0

It is up to you to make sure what your policy covers before you buy. Cheaper policies give less cover.
No doubt nobody gave a thought to that exception before the current situation arose.0 -

Seen plenty who have paid more for less.
New User name as MSE gave me a number in my old one.

OK next time I will look for a policy that allows cancellation if there is a FCO advise not to travel (if any will be available in future!) but nevertheless most policies if not all are invalid if you travel against FCO advise so all or most of those people flying now must be travelling without insurance!0
