I think HSBC used to do one with their student account might be worth looking into.
Other than that most likely being a student (apologies for stereotyping) but you may not have much of a credit history, Barclaycard Forward, Vanquis & Aqua are all good for that.
They’ll have high interest rates mind, and always use their own Eligibility checker on their site first before making a decision to apply1 -

Whatever you do just keep an eye on the spending.1 -
IMO the time that banks threw credit cards at students to go out and spend are well gone.
My DD from a few years ago was turned down by the Black Horse bank for not having an income other than student loan.
If you are going to be working part time you may get a card - wait until your situation is clarified first.1 -
I think it's a smart idea to get a CC while at uni, so long as you pay off in full each month and keep an eye on your spending. It will help improve your credit score for when you leave uni and want to start considering buying a house etc. When I was at uni about 12 years ago, someone who I lived with in halls had the foresight to do this. Looking back, I regret not taking her advice.
As a first step, I would use the eligibility checker to see if you'd get any rewards cards, e.g. Amex Platinum or Barclaycard Rewards. With these you get cashback on spending which is quite beneficial. If it looks unlikely you'd get any of those, do an eligibility check for credit builder cards, e.g. Capital One, Aqua, Vanquis, etc. There's a pretty decent chance you'd be accepted for one of those.
Good luck in your pursuit of a credit card and your studies!0
