Wheelie bin - green/living roof

Hello,

I intend to put a wooden platform over my 3 wheelie bins. I had intended to put pot plants on top but realistically I suspect they might be pinched. 

Now I’m considering a living roof on the platform. I would be really grateful for any advice on how to make an inexpensive DIY living roof platform.

You can buy the living roof on a roll, like lawn. I've seen a few episodes of Grand Designs where they have done it on houses, including the roof of a normal terrace. It would be worth a watch so you know what's involved.

Shouldn't cost too much for what you want to do as I've just done a quick browser search and the first company that popped up do a roll for £45,or you can buy some plants and wait for them to grow across. Then you will need the liner between the roof of your bin shed to protect it.

Have a search on Youtube on how to make a living roof. There are plenty of videos showing how to create sedum living roofs.
