Hailstorm Damage to Polycarbonate Roof

Our conservatory roof was damaged by a hail storm last week. 8 panels out of 14 have holes in them as a result.
An insurance assessor from BVS (on behalf of Lloyds) came out to inspect using a camera on a selfie stick! He's just offered us £882 (although we have a £200 excess to come off that) for labour and materials to replace the 8 panels only.
When he was here, he pointed out that some of the framework was distorted and the panels wouldn't be able to be replaced without first fixing these although he then acknowledged that we would be unlikely to make this happen quickly because of lockdown.
I am gutted on a number of levels...
1. if we could do the 8 panel replacement, we'd end up with a two-tone roof (the original panels being c15 years old).
2. it's very unlikely that anyone will be able to do the work on half the roof at that minimal cost.
3. I'm looking at a bill for somewhere between c£4k for a full roof replacement, with polycarbonate, or £8k with glass.
4. A week ago I had a solid, non-leaking, roof that had been well maintained over the years and the room was a pleasure to sit in. Now I have an eyesore and every time I glance up I feel furious with "that man".
Am I being unreasonable or should I just calm down, take the money and get on with making good?
Thanks!

If you want to dispute the cost you will need to arrange a couple of quotes of your own.  Alternatively, tell the insurer that you want them to arrange the work, and your only involvement will be to pay them the excess.  I would certainly take that route if you believe the cost of the work will be considerably more than the assessor claims.  There is certainly a huge disparity between the assessor's figure of £882 for 8 panels and your figure of £4k for 14.
The insurers will not pay for replacement of the undamaged panels.  The change of colour is part of the aging process, not a fault.
We had one of the glass panels in our conservatory roof smashed by a falling ridge tile from our neighbours house by the February storms.  We were told that there would be a difference in colour, but the colour match was actually perfect

Insurance does not  provide betterment and a whole new roof would put you in a better position than you were before the incident happened..
