Are we covered by insurance if we postpone holiday?

Hi
Sorry if the answer to this question is already out there - I tried searching but couldn't see it.
We've got a holiday booked with TUI in late September.
The holiday was booked in early Feb.
We've got an annual travel insurance policy with Virgin.
The policy runs from Dec 19-Dec 20.
We're thinking about postponing our holiday to next summer. We can do this by paying £50pp which for a couple isnt too bad.
If we postpone to next year though, it will be outside of our original annual travel insurance policy.
And since we are choosing to postpone the trip, rather than have it cancelled by the travel agents, would this count as a new holiday booking?
I'm thinking new travel insurance is very hard to come by, and our existing annual policy won't cover it, so we'll be uninsured.
Part of me wants to hold my nerve to see if we get cancelled or postponed by TUI, but I'm starting to think this is looking more doubtful for September.
Interested to hear peoples thoughts, help much appreciated

Staysure and trailfinders are already covering covid on new policies , I believe trailfinders also covers cancellation.
