    No.  That is not correct.

When does your holiday year begin?
When would you have worked there six years?
What do your written particulars of employment say about your pay - how much, what frequency?

Is the company insolvent/in administration that you know of?

Glad you recognise that "written particulars of employment" are often called the contract.  However, as you worked and got paid, you obviously had a contract but, if you ever had written particulars, you don't have them now.

So, in the absence of those written particulars, how much did you get paid and how frequently?  Did you get payslips?

If the company goes insolvent then you can claim of the government, if it goes into administration the administrators will take over and tell you what to do. If the owner has decided to just stop trading then they still have to pay you redundancy/holiday pay. So you need to find out how the company is closing.

  • Hi yes i got paid every week and got payslis. My boss is just closing the shop and definitely not going into administration. So i will now need to go on job seekers allowance.
Where can i get help to persue this situation  against my employer..
    Thanks kevin

Actually closing a business is not as simple as just going right where shut. There is a legal process that they have to follow. Basically all bills etc need to be paid, which include staff. If they are refusing to pay anything best start is ACAS or CAB for further advice. But you can start looking at what other benefits you are entitled to in the meantime.
