Difficult Holiday Company

I have booked a holiday to New York in August with a reputable Travel Agents. I recently received an email from them saying I could amend my holiday and go elsewhere. So I chose Disneyland Paris instead. I have since been advised that they cannot move the holiday to Disney because it is a third party booking. However, if I ring them now I could book through them to go to Disney! I have asked for a credit note and the said no. Where do I stand?

You stand being able to move the holiday to a location they offer.
They're not under any obligation to provide a credit note or refund unless they cancel your holiday.1 -
Given the state of the Covid epidemic in the USA at present, it's entirely possible that the FCO will still be advising against travel to the USA in August. If so you should be entitled to a full refund.

The US has banned tourists from the UK and there is no sign this is going to change anytime soon. On that basis, wait and get a full refund0
