Thai Airways - change of times

Do you mean it's now a 48+ hours transit time?
Are the flights part of the same booking and PNR? What do the agents say about it?Evolution, not revolution1 -
THAI international flights are currently cancelled to the end of July, and I suspect they might also announce cancellation throughout August within the next few weeks. They have an option to extend the validity of tickets until the end of 2021, explained in here...https://www.thaiairways.com/en_GB/news/news_announcement/news_detail/covid_19.page but if you booked through a travel agent you will have to work through them.

The original booking included a 2 hour stopover in Bangkok. Now my wife and child have an enormous wait. I would rather cancel completely because everything is so up in the air at the moment. This is their plan ('ve copied and pasted so sorry about the mess.

Have you looked on the airline website to see if there are other options between BKK MNL that suit you? If so and if they meet minimum connection time then approach TravelUp to see if they can approach Thai to change to any preferred alternative. Wise to have full flight details to hand so you can tell TravelUp the specific flight details.
If no alternative available, with a 25h25min connection I would think you would be justified and allowed to cancel and seek a refund - HOWEVER, Thai have recently entered the equivalent of a Chapter 11 style administration and looking to restructure. This will mean it very difficult to obtain a refund. A credit voucher may be offered but clearly that might not be a wise selection given the airlines financial insecurity.
Plan B might be a restful hotel stay for your wife and child before travelling on the following day.1 -
Thai do not fly to Manila on 11 August so they have put your family on their next flight after arrival into Bangkok. The very first flight after your family arrive leaves Bangkok at 1.30 pm: I would regard that as an intolerably long stop-over. A far better option would be the 25-hour stopover, so long as Thai provide a nice hotel, transfers and meals (as they should).Alternatively, could the departure from London be postponed by one day? Thai has a flight on 11 August that arrives at 6.00 on 12 August, giving just over an hour to transfer to their onward flight to Manila.

That's brilliant. Thanks so much for both your help. I will get in touch with the company and let you know what happens although they are still taking a lifetime to respond to any queries0
