TUI group booking nightmare

Hi all hoping someone can advise on our conundrum. 

We were booked as a group booking to attend a family members wedding in turkey in July. 

We have paid £800 deposit for the £4300 holiday already. 

Anyway as this has gone on the couple getting married decided to amend their wedding to next year to be on the safe side. 

We can not go next year for various reasons. 

So basically TUI have told the couple we have to loose our deposit cause it’s a group booking. 

I can’t see how that is fair or legal? 

Can anyone advise - it’s a lot of money for us to loose.

With the wedding now changed are they cancelling the entire holiday and rebooking the ones that want to go? or have they moved everybody else to the new date but are wanting to cancel yours?

The way things are described by the OP, there is nothing within the control of TUI which is preventing the event going ahead this year.  The 'group', or members of it, has a disinclination to travel, so standard T&C apply.  That is both fair and legal.  It's unfortunate on those not able to travel next year, but it's not TUI's problem.
