Charge question

I signed up for the experian credit check 1 month trial, got my report etc and cancelled it about 2 weeks later, well before the months free trial was up. I recieved an email about a week ago saying I am getting a £39 charge from my bank so I signed into my bank to see what was going on, experian charged me 1 months fee and the money I had left in my bank to cover other bills was not enough due to this. The experian bill was only about 8 quid but I have my finances worked out to the penny and had only left exactly enough in this account to cover my bills. Can I claim the £39 off experian as well as my £8 back?
Sorry if this is the wrong forum for this kind of question but it was the most relevant that I could see.

Yes, you can claim a refund of the monthly premium. Just provide them with proof, ie
Telephone message - who you spoke to and when.
Faxed cancellation - a 'send confirm' report.
e-mail request - presumably you have it saved on your PC?
Once they admit they've taken it in error, simply throw in your claim for the £39 charge as well. They'll demand proof of this of course, so you may have to send them a statement. However, if you have a charge coming later, perhaps another resultant charge or debit interest, then you might want to wait until you know the full extent of the 'damage' before making any claim.
Personally, I'd try once with a CSA, and if they don't refund within a reasonable time, say 7 days, then don't waste your time on the phone. Go down the official complaint route. Their website should detail the procedure.0 -
I still have the email, I'll give them a call tomorrow, cheers.0
