Gas Energy Switch with EDF - Completed Early ?

Is it normal for a gas switch from one provider to another (EDF) to complete the switch early ?

I was given a date by my new supplier (EDF) that the switch would happen on Thursday 25th June, but when I login to my new EDF account online now it states that the switch is now completed.

I've changed providers many times in the past and haven't encountered this.

Is it likely to be a glitch with their website, or is it possible the switch could have completed 5 days early ?

Thanks in advance

Some suppliers can do faster switching and it can be as quick as 17 days if they pull their fingers out.

Thanks, still showing my old supplier at the moment.  It would be strange to be moved early when they gave me a switch date and date range to give them my opening reading.

This is probably an artefact of the 10 day meter reading window.
It begins 5 days before the switch date and ends 5 days after the switch.
You can provide your meter readings any time within that 10 day window and they will be used as the basis for the approved switch reading that will be used by both companies.

Thanks.  The letter from the new supplier says the cool-off period ends 21 June, meter read start 23 June and meter read end 2 July.  There is no option online to submit the reading at this time.

All very confusing.  I'm just thinking it might be a glitch with their website rather than an early switch.
