Hi all.
Looking for some advice. I run a small business and need a new laptop. Criteria is
I want it to start up fast (Chromebook?)
I will mainly use Office apps, Word and Excel, which I will save to our One Drive
On a personal level, I will probably watch Netflix and play music.
I've come across this which seems to tick all the boxes. Any thoughts?

Don't buy a ChromeBook just for the starting up fast aspect.. Normal laptops with solid state drives start up fast.

A standard business grade laptop is not a Chromebook. Look for a 15.6” display, an i5, or AMD Ryzon 5 processor, 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD. A long run time on battery power and lightweight are highly desirable too. For business use you need Windows 10 Pro (with Bitlocker) to secure your data against loss or theft of the laptop.

The above specification is well served by Dell, Lenovo and HP, take your pick, cost around £500 + vat upwards.

ps a Dell 15.6” Vostro 3591 is on offer at £479 plus vat. Next business day “on site” support is an extra (£43.82 + vat for 1 year)

And don't forget Dell Outlet if you're willing to look at a refurb.

    Forget the chromebook.
I would not buy a chromebook because of the planned obsolescence e.g. the one that you are looking at CP713-1WN will not receive any updates from June 2025 which is pathetic!
