Over 70 Driving License Renewal

Firstly thanks for this site telling my wife I would get an automatic renewal notice from DVLA!
So I typed DVLA Renew License Over 70 into Google and clicked the first link
This was ukdrivinghelp dot co dot UK (Being 'new' I can't post links)
They wanted £69.99 to process my application!!!
(And all the others there as well)
It's FREE if you do it at the actual DVLA correct site 
Yes - I know it had the Little 'AD' box telling me it was an advert...........

Plenty of over 70s on here who don't suffer from the age thing .

How about us 69 year olds patiently waiting for DVLA to send the reminder. Can I renew for free online, (as stated repeatedly), if I do not have a current passport.

Have a look on DVLA and try . You can always stop if unsure .

You can  renew from 90 days ahead of your 70 th birthday.
You only need a passport if you are changing the licence photo.
