I have had a dispute approved by AMEX, when do funds normally show back in your account?
When is the latest the airline in question can regain the funds? Is there a cutoff date where I know the money can't be taken back?
Normally once processed it's returned to your account then they have 45 days (unless Amex is different, hope someone can confirm the time-frame )  to contest it
New User name as MSE gave me a number in my old one.

I am not sure what you mean by 'approved'.

Amex open up the dispute and the money is credited to your account usually overnight. The estimated resolution date is approx 60 days from when you open it but this can be extended (as per the email Amex send). The money can be clawed back at any stage which has happened to me with Ryanair and Loveholidays who both disputed the chargeback saying they had offered vouchers. The disputes were re-opened when I advised Amex that I didn't buy a voucher and I am entitled to a refund.

My first dispute was opened on 1st April and I have not had any notification that this one or any subsequent ones have been closed in my favour.

In my card activity the dispute in question has the following : As a result of our investigation, we have credited your account.

I didn't receive any credit to my account overnight as you suggested though.

What happened with your Ryanair and Loveholidays claims once they were claimed back by the merchant?
Amex re-credited the money for both Ryanair and Loveholidays once I advised them that a voucher was not acceptable and a refund is required. In my account both of my Loveholidays claims have been closed and the I have the money from Amex.

Amex closed 2 of my Ryanair claims (again!) 2 days ago and took the money back from my account. After phoning them and explaining that I am due a refund they have re-opened them but the money has been suspended and not re-credited. Apparently they cannot re-open it the same again as it will automatically close so they have re-opened it another way which means the money is suspended so I am not liable for it but I don't see it as a credit adjustment like it was before.

    Hope that makes sense.

Amex’s default position seems to be to immediately approve chargebacks. Bearing in mind that it’s a weekend, you should probably see the credit refunded to your card on Monday? I have done this successfully vs Opodo and it took about a week for Amex to transfer the credit from my card to my linked current account. I did this first week of May and still no challenge from Opodo for me.

When they make the credit, it will appear on the same date as the original transaction, so you may have to scroll back to when that was to see the credit.
