    It is possible that the recording could be recognised as a valid will but you would need specialist legal advice.

    Maybe the aunt was under the mistaken impression that beneficiaries can't be executors?  Quite a lot of people get confused about between that and the fact that they can't be witnesses.

    often there are flaws with deathbed gifts which makes them incomplete.
    A recording probably won't pass one of the tests.

    The donor must part with the gift or deliver it in some way to the donee.
