hi have received the acceptance but i’m confused as to to the wording,
‘You will refund the amount of sppi premiums totalling £6xxx’
you will pay £5xxx’ representing simple interest less tax’
the refund will be £11xxx
its the first bit I am worried about, why am I
Paying?
thanks for any advice

Hi - i am looking for some help.
I have been sent a letter from RBS informing that my PPI claim has been successful on mortgage insurance.
However, whilst this was mis-sold, given the uncertainty around COVID-19, mortgage protection may be useful should i lose my job (50:50 chance). There does not appear to be an acceptance period on the letter, however i wondered if anyone knew how long the offer is valid for.
Say for example my job feels a lot safer this time next year, would i still be able to accept the offer?
I am nervous about accepting the offer, then losing my job and the (albeit mis-sold) policy is no longer available.

It is quite nice of them as there have been occurrences where people have complained, had the policy voided and then suffered a claimable event wishing they had never voided the policy.
Say for example my job feels a lot safer this time next year, would i still be able to accept the offer?Probably not.
I am nervous about accepting the offer, then losing my job and the (albeit mis-sold) policy is no longer available.Which does sort of make a mockery of you complaining and having your complaint upheld.

Normally, the policy is voided once you have a successful complaint.
