You don't no as your entitlement to drive ended at 70.

Rubbish.  OP can carry on driving whilst the application is with the DVLA.

Do tell me what I've said wrong.

Your entitlement to drive is up until your 70th birthday and there is no Covid extension to that.

Technically nothing wrong. But was your post helpful to the OP??

As long as OP meets the requirements from my link then they can continue driving for up to 1 year after submitting their renewal application.

The entitlement to drive continues after the 70th birthday, so long as the criteria within Rodders' link apply.

The Covid extension is on the renewal of photocards, not entitlements.

OP - DVLA have only just "reopened" to postal applications, after closing when lockdown hit. There will be a massive backlog and delays.
