BW Legal requesting money on behalf of Talk Talk

Hi, hope there is someone who can offer some advice.....
On 8th April this year I received a letter from JC International regarding an outstanding debt with Talk Talk for £51.13. I made contact with JC International straight away to find out what this money was for as I terminated my contract with Talk Talk in August 2017. They told me that all they knew was that it was an amount owed from 2016 but they would get more info and come back to me.
I then received a letter from BW Legal on 26th May 20 saying they were acting on behalf of JC International and I owe £51.13 again I got straight in touch and explained my previous conversation and they went off to find more info.
Today I have received an email with 3 pdfs attached which are Talk Talk statements which show a carried over balance of £32.50 and then charges added on for late payment these were dated between 8/12/17 and 8/2/18.
Surprisingly I still have my statements from Talk Talk as I had a broadband account with them between Feb 16 and Sept 17, with this contract came a free SIM that I never used. I was with Orange/EE at the time. I have about 10 emails from Talk Talk to show that there was always a nil balance on the mobile as it was never used. I never thought anything of it for that reason. I terminated my broadband contract I have the correspondence to show it and can also prove the final bill and that I paid it. I have sent all this to BW Legal but they are saying it's not enough. That I can either pay or get legal advice or speak to citizens advice....although surprisingly the male on the phone refused to put that in writing to me!!
They are saying it is my responsibility to prove that I don't owe the money.... but surely they cant just tell me I owe this money with no detail of what it is for and I have to pay it????
Any advice would be appreciated

You don't have to prove anything, it's for them to prove that you owe the money.
Tell them that you don't owe them anything and that if they sue, you will defend their claim and they will be wasting the court's time because they don't have any evidence.0
