Care Parking PCN @ Peel Centre Stockport

Options
My partner has been sent a PCN in the post (Failure to pay for full duration of stay), £100 or £60 if paid within 14 days. The car is leased so by the time the letter has come to her she only has 7 days now. For whatever reason (she said she didn’t see the signs) she didn’t pay for parking, stayed there for 1 hour 17 minutes and purchased goods from The Range (still has proof). Has anyone got any advice?

Thank you

It is not a fine, it is an invoice from an ex-clamper to compensate them for the alleged harm they suffered when you did what you did. We call it a scam. Pay them not a penny unless a judge so orders it.

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP., it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and in some cases, cancellation.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up,

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

So would you suggest ignoring it altogether?

Ignoring is foolish , proving you have not read the newbies FAQ sticky thread near the top of the forum

Plan A is a complaint to the onsite security staff , trying for a cancellation , so try their office

Care parking are unlikely to have followed POFA , no hire docs etc , so appeal to care parking  with a template by Edna basher , as a keeper / hirer , no blabbing about who was driving

Newbies thread post one , bottom section , after the onsite office complaint has been made

Why not just do what the NEWBIES thread tells you about hire/lease/company vehicles?

NO LINK GIVEN TO A STICKY THREAD, IT IS LITERALLY 2 CLICKS AWAY.

This is easy to win on appeal.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD
