Debt Free Direct Ltd IVA and Aperture IVA

Hi there!
Wondering if anyone else has experienced anything similar to this??
I have received a letter from Aperture IVA regarding an IVA I had a couple of years ago with Debt Free Direct Limited, which must have been finalised a good 5 or 6 years ago. They acquired DFD in Sept 2017 and apparently after reviewing all of their accounts they have ascertained a residual balance relating to my IVA which they "believe" I am now entitled to, saying "this may be a result of PPI, creditors returning funds to us or failing to process dividend payments made to them".
So they can process this via a direct bank transfer they are asking me to either email or post them the Name Of Bank, Name on Account, Sort Code and Account Number.
It all looks legitimate, they know about my previous IVA, they have a web presence, according to an internet search they did take over Debt Free Direct, but I really am hesitant to provide my bank details to anyone who just sends me a letter, I have called the number on their website (as there wasn't one on the letter) and although they did have my details on the system I was told I need to direct all questions relating to this to their trusts department via email. I have emailed them, not with my bank details, to ask for further details from them, but how can I tell if this is legitimate or a scam?
Any advice would be appreciated.
