Switching to Dual Fuel when gas and electricity currently being paid by two separate people?

I am shocked reading this topic. (new in the UK so not vary familiar with all the tricks of the trade...)
Did some calculations this evening and got to the conclusion myself. I am on quite a low Dual Fuel bill myself. 560 £ per year. (E.On)
Switching to two seperate suppliers brings that bill down to ...... 436 £ based on same consumption of course.
Why doesn't the comparising tool from Cheap Energy Club takes that option in consideration? ;-)0 -
Sadly the CEC doesn't compare all suppliers, e.g. Neon Reef. Try a few more, starting with Citizens Advice and 'Switch with Which'? Compare against your annual consumption derived from actual meter readings, and ignore all projections and savings claims, just do the sums yourself.EdSanRo said:Why doesn't the comparising tool from Cheap Energy Club takes that option in consideration? ;-)1 -
It does. You can set the filters for gas, electricity or dual fuel. But I'd recheck your figures, as a variation in excess of 20% is not feasible. Post the first part of your postcode and your annual kWh usage and someone will cross check it.EdSanRo said:I am shocked reading this topic. Thanks for your replies.
It is exactly what I am going to do! Excel sheet and the correct data. I have an up to date excel with my current and past usage.
I found ukpower and they have an easy menu on left side which enables you to quick switch between fuels.
Of course I check the tariff on the suppliers site.

For the OP's issue, just keep in mind the person on the bill has to pay the full amount regardless of any arrangement between friends or housemates. If one person doesn't pay their share the bill payer is lumped with it. So if the bills are approximately equal then the current arrangement might be "safer".

Why over-complicate it? Just use any accredited comp site with your postcode and kWh figures, it take less than a minute.EdSanRo said:
