Lisa conveyancing fee

Options
Our solicitor is going to charge us £75 each (£150 total). For using our lifetime isas towards our house. This seems a little high to me. I can find that htb isa fees are capped at £60 each inc of vat (£120 total) and that process is more time intensive as they have to apply for the bonus unlike the lisa where it is paid automatically. All the solicitor needs to do is fill in one form and we fill in one too then the bank transfers it.
I originally went with this firm as slightly cheaper quote but theyve already stuck £150 on to it and makes me worry there will be more to come. Ive yet to sign or pay anything and am thinking of changing solicitors. What do people think? Should i point the solicitor in direction of htb isa fees cap to see if she will reduce it? Or do people think im overreacting?

did you notice this on their list of fees or you went with the cheapest without looking at why? Some firms are cheap because they don't put all their fees in, but when engaging them, they are more expensive

I assume you have already instructed them?, if you go with another solicitor, they may charge you for any work done to date

First question i asked was does quote inc all fees and she gave very loose answer about not knowing as additional surveys may be required but didnt know at this stage. It did not state that lisa admin fee was additional which again i did mention we would be using on the phone. Ive also spoken to another a solicitor who has told me that lisa fees are capped at £50 + vat (£60) so it seems theyre trying to charge me more than theyre allowed to.
If i havent paid anything or signed anything yet have i officially instructed them? I verbally agreed to use them but i know with every other legal process nothing is official until you sign something?

you can clarify with them if no work has been done to stop and if no fees, then look for another solicitor.
