HELP! with Credit Card Payment via Western Union

Hi All
I am looking for some help with a recent purchase. I bought some goods from the USA using my credit card issued in the UK the seller of the goods was advertising the products on alibaba.com, they sent me an invoice and I paid the amount requested on the invoice, the payment terms were cash pick up from the states for fast dispatch of goods via western union, personal transfer.
The seller collected the cash from western union offices and produced ID to collect, after collecting the cash they changed the MOQ (minimum order quantity) amount and are asking for more money to meet the MOQ, I feel this is a fraud, and hence are breaking the original terms paid for as per invoice.
I asked my credit card company to cancel the transaction whilst it was pending but they said they could not, now the cash has been collected and I have no goods and have paid for them, would this be covered under credit card dispute for goods not received?
Any help would be gratefully appreciated, thx in advance.

No. It seems you instructed your bank to send some cash to be collected, which it appears to have been.
No one has ever used Western Union for a legitimate business transaction in the history of the world.
Write off what you've list and don't send any more.1 -
Great, I was hoping it would be covered as a dispute as payment was made on the basis of the invoice which forms the contract and the terms have now changed.0

Any possibility of a S75 or chargeback was dashed as soon as a 3rd party was involved, i.e. Western Union. You would have to sue the seller in a US court, probably not worth it.1

Hopefully it wasn't a large amount of money. It has the whiff of a scam about it - you send some money - and then something changes, and you need to send some more money. Was the item you were buying an absolute bargain? Or just something that was hard to get hold of in the UK?

More like a sewage farm than a whiff .cymruchris said:It has the whiff of a scam about it
The OP was conned, the only upside that the OP didn't go back for more.
As zx81 said, write if off.
New User name as MSE gave me a number in my old one.

Didn't the whole we need cash at a Western Union store not ring alarm bells?
How did you pay this? To Western Union or by Money Transfer?0 -
Not a bad story IMO.0
