Scratches on iPhone screen - Sale of Goods Act Fit for Purpose claim?

I have a very expensive iPhone 11 Pro Max (over £1300) that I take great care of. It has a case but not a screen protector. It's only a few months old and already I've noticed two or three minor (but noticeable) scratches on the screen. Apple don't want to know - they say they'll replace the phone for £500 or something.
My argument is that the screen on such an expensive device shouldn't scratch so easily and therefore isn't really fit for purpose. Has anyone successfully claimed under this?

Plus screens don't just scratch by themselves, so it will be user damage. You will have no joy i'm afraid.4 -
You might want to look at how you carry it. I have a 28 month old iPhone (no idea of number, a 7 possibly) , in a folding case without a mark in it. My OH had the identical phone, again in a folding case, always carried carefully away from pockets with coins or keys anywhere near and without a blemish to the screen. The youngest of my sons, in his 20s had a myriad of scratches on his 4 month old iPhone, but then he carries it often in same pocket with his wallet, throws it on a side table when he visits along with car keys , small coins etc often drops it in the car when he is setting it up as a sat nav . He had a repair and now uses a gorilla glass protector as he knows he is clumsy and needs a bit more protection if he is going to keep his phone pristine.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. If your treat it as a cheap trinket, it will be damaged as a cheap trinket. My iPhone seven is now nearly 30 months old and still looks as good as the day I got it!1

Thanks all. I'm absolutely anal about how I carry and look after it! I get a new phone every year and sell the previous one in near excellent condition which is why I'm annoyed this one appears to be damaged so easily
Guess I'll have to live with it!
