Switching from utility Warehouse - Gold Bundle

Options
Good Evening

Im currently with utility Warehouse, have been for the past 8 years and looking at seeing if we can get faster broadband for a better price elsewhere. Currently we have standard Broadband, Electric and Gas as part of their Gold Bundle. We had a quote from utility warehouse and for an upgrade to 60-70mb and they quoted us around £40 quid a month and suggested that if we were to go elsewhere with a our broadband, it would in effect mean we would have to take a new contract for the gas and electric and would cost us more  - Although i was then offered a mobile phone contract on top of our current deal, to then bring down the cost of the Broadband.........

I just wondered with us having a bundle are we able to just choose a new broadband provider, and in addition switch to new gas and electric supplier. Does it cause much issues? and do we have to do anything or is then sorted by the new broadband supplier and also the Energy Supplier? if we had just broadband or energy, id be fine just switching i think but with us having the bundle...........it feels more confusing

cheers

UTW have some of the highest prices on the market for Elec & Gas, unless you are a wealthy household regularly spending large amounts of money in stores offering the UTW discount, ( and even that saving is debatable ),your monthly spend can be cut by useing different providers for each service.

As for moving, you simply sign up with a new supplier and they do all the running to make the Swtches.

Well done for waking up from your 8 year money-saving coma!!

Seriously though, I would focus on sorting the broadband first and deal with the energy second. However much of a fuss UW make, your energy won't get cut off and the worst they can do is move you from an eye watering tariff to a massively eye watering tariff.

I use Plusnet at £27.99 a month for 72Mb. I'm sure they have even more attractive newbie deals.

In the real world,  outside of the UW cult, the price of electricity is in the 11p ball park, whilst gas prices now start with a 2 ! Enjoy!

I swopped from a bundle to separate suppliers and then cancelled the monthly subscription all without issue or any penalty charges.
