Tenants Rights....

Do not know if I have posted this in the right place but...
I have just bought a house and have moved in. I still have another house that I am renting from someone and need to give my 30 days notice...
I have no problem with this, but my original 12 month contract ran out on the 1st April this year and no other tenancy agreement has been signed by either party.
Do I have to still give the 30 days notice, even though there is no contract in place? I do not have a deposit laid down because they did not require one when I signed the agreement (was done privately and not through a agency)
Cheers for the help...

This will help as it covers most eventualities/scenarios

If you have an assured shorthold tenancy (which is almost certainly the case) once the original term comes to an end, the tenancy continues on the same terms and conditions unless or until one party give notice to terminate it.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0

Yes you need to give the notice period as in your orginal agreement.... sometimes the landlord will be happy to reduce this, escpecially if you can find him a suitable tenant.0
