Critical illness insurance - private and work policy

Options
Hi there,
I'm currently fighting my private critical illness company, as they've rejected my claim - it's currently with the Ombudsman!
However, I've just had my P60 through from work, and one of my benefits through work is also CI.
Can I/should I also pursue the work policy payout?

You should certainly check on the work policy to see what is covered.  Different companies have different criteria for payout.

As said above, you've got nothing to lose by trying to claim on the work plan.  What was the reason for being declined on the personal plan?

Insurance company have said there is stuff that showed up on my medical records that I should have disclosed, but I am arguing that I answered all questions to the best of my knowledge.  Its v stressful.
Will see what I can do through work...

we all don't have a perfect memory, depends what those items are.

For future readers, best to get a summary of your medical records from your GP which can be sent via Email so you know you won't miss anything

what condition is it that you are trying to claim for?  I ask because normally personal plans are far more comprehensive than work related policies and therefore the work plan may not even cover the condition being claimed on.
