Locked Bike Stolen From Bike Storage, £200 for CCTV Footage

Hi,
I'm living in a court and paying a monthly fee to the management company.
I've secured my bike to the bike storage which you can only access with a key provided by the management company. I thought it was safe there and did not even check my bike for 1.5 months.
Recently, we bought another bike for my husband and the day we were going for a ride, we realized the bike has stolen.
We contacted the police and the management company. The police asked for CCTV. The company told us this is not their responsibility (btw, the bin storage and bike storage is opening by the same key which can lead to a more problematic area.) and if we want to see the CCTV footage, it could be around £200 but they need to confirm it with the CCTV contractor.
It got us by surprise as we've never heard such a fee before. Can you please let me know if this is legit?
I feel that we've been robbed once and now they are trying to rob us again. Plus, it is really annoying knowing that there is a bike thief that has access to the storage. Maybe that person is living in our building, who knows?
Any suggestions?
Thank you all.

They can't let you see the CCTV footage as that would be a breach of the Data Protection Act.
It's also unlikely they will have kept footage for 1.5 months as that would probably be excessive retention, as well as costly. 2-3 weeks would be more usual.
They must hand it over to the police as if they don't that is withholding evidence. Whether the police will chase the management company is another matter.
As for the thief living in your building, probably loads of previous tenants have kept keys or copies of keys.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0
