They were very slow for me and very difficult to get accurate information out of so you never really know where it’s at or whether what they’ve told you is correct or not. I had to chase a lot but I got mine through not long after they started physical valuations again. I also managed to changed the product the same day they gave me the offer too and they’ve issued the offer quickly. No idea what causes the delays with them.
My broker told me it's because a lot of their staff are based in India, which normally doesn't present any issues but obviously coronavirus has meant their working practices have changed just like ours. Also they use big companies like esurv and countrywide for their valuations and they had a significant backlog. I hope everything works out for you going forward, sounds like you've had a difficult time!

I used to think it was their system that causing issues out of nowhere...but now I think this is a combination of poor performance of business managers and poor IT support. Throughout the process I have escalated issues multiple times and each time my escalation was closed by mistake. They lack of business managers who can follow up a case and bridge each team to get to the root of the problems. Most of the time they are all sitting around waiting for someone to resolve the issue without even communicating with each other.

I have been with Barclays for 20 years and never been so disappointed. Opened nationwide and NatWest accounts this week and ready to reassess the relationship with Barclays.

Yeah I heard similar too but I’ve also heard they were the same before lockdown, so who knows. In any case, they had the best rate available at the time so that’s a plus.

Application went in on Tuesday 9th June. Near enough silence for two weeks.
Valuation was 23rd June. Valuation came back approved on 25th June.
Received offer via email on 27th June. Just waiting for the copy in the post.
    Overall a pretty quick turnaround!

Here's mine after a pretty stressful time mixing my application up with someone else's.
    Application submitted 16h March
    Offered by email 22nd March
27th March Barclays admitted a complete error..   what a nightmare not my offer incorrect.
5th May after several complaints a senior underwriter approved application pending valuation
    18th June physical valuation done
    Then finally
    26th June morgage offer received.
After 3 months of sheer hell got there.

I also submitted my application via a broker on 9th June but no movement on Track It. Hopefully I'll see some progress soon, good luck with your purchase!

Hi guys. Can anyone confirm how does Barclays do evaluations? Are they physical or remote?
