Anyone South Manchester people know these areas?
I've started looking in both. It feels like both are really nice, loads of bars and restaurants, good schools.
Prices don't seem wildly different.
In Urmston, we're looking Chassen rd/ Flixton. In Sale, more towards Ashton Upon Mersey.
Any help greatly appreciated!!

I rent in Sale and have a few friends that live in Urmston - both are lovely to be honest and you're right, prices don't differ that much so I would just go for the house you like!
One thing to be aware of, traffic in Sale is a nightmare during normal times but that's to be said about a lot of Manchester. The main road get's really badly congested and it's a pain around the m60 when United are playing at home! Then that has a knock on effect to Carrington Spur and Brooklands as there's basically only one way in and out of Sale.1 -
Oh, that's very helpful, thank you!0

Bare in mind that although they are both considered highly desirable areas, due to the schools and Trafford Council having a good reputation and cheaper council tax (I believe). They also both have some rougher areas in. There are roads in Sale that go from extreme deprivation and some of the unsavoury things that are often associated to houses costing half a million in the space of 500m.1

I grew up in Sale so know the area well. I agree about the traffic, but I'm less familiar with Urmston's traffic. However, in Sale's favour is the Metrolink. It's a bit of a walk from Ashton on Mersey but if you need to get into Manchester or Altrincham it's brilliant. The first house I bought was a 5 minute walk from Brooklands Station. I could get from home to meet friends in Manchester in less than 30 minutes by tram. Where will you be working?1
