Stock fence query

We have this stock fence at the bottom of our garden.
We want to replace it, but it’s runs down to two other house and another house in another side.
Do we have to get permission to replace it etc?

Yes probably, likely it is the property of the other land owner. Look at your deeds. You could put a new fence inside this one entirely on your land.2

It looks like a chain link fence, the integrity of which requires it to be continuous. It's not something a householder would normally erect.You'd be better installing your own fence on your land just inside it, although the sub surface looks challenging in parts!0
