IKEA Metod fittings in a Howdens cabinet

There's a howdens kitchen in the house we bought with just shelves in the cupboards, I can't use half the corner cupboards and we have a freestanding fridge so need to take out the fitted one and want to use the cabinet as a larder unit. Has anyone tried putting the IKEA Metod drawers and interiors in a non IKEA kitchen? Howdens are v expensive and won't even sell to me as I'm not a fitter. I can't work out from the measurements if they'll fit. TIA

The Ikea units are much deeper than the Howdens ones, but if you check the Inside depth of your cabinet, I can tell you that an Ikea drawer will need a minimum depth in the cabinet of 540mm, as we have several in our kitchen.
However, If your cabinet is not deep enough, if you go here.......... https://www.trade-hinges.co.uk/
and look at their DIY drawer kits, there are several different ones, you can buy the bits to make drawers of any size. You buy a kit that fits the depth, then make your own base and back to give the width you need.
We have used their kits many times to make custom sized drawers, including many for a Howdens kitchen.
If your unit will have hinges, you may have to pack out the runner on that side to clear the hinges.
The base and back can be made from Contiboard type stuff, or if you have Ikea nearby you can often pick up free bits of units that can be used, we have made about 25 various drawers that way!2 -
For other cupboard fittings, look at Screwfix, Hafele, and many other kitchen fittings suppliers1

BTW........what is the problem with the corner cupboards?1

Oh fantastic, that's really helpful, thank you. Oh with the corners I have to almost climb in to reach things... there are two of these and they drive me mad 😁0

Do they have a post in the right angle and 2 doors that meet on it?1

No, it's a big rectangle with access from one side only. You have to reach in so half is hidden.

So what you need are those swing out trays? There are several types, the ones that pull out the second bit after the first are great, wish I could remember what they are called.0
