No that the details are out, I have no hesitation in voting no in both sections.

Hopefully sufficient members will do the same. I was one of the main organisers to try to stop Kent Reliance being taken over by JC Flowers. They only narrowly won the vote by 0.8% and we got very close to stopping it so every vote can count. Despite being told by the MD that I was scaremongering to suggest that JC Flowers would take control of the new bank it didn't give me any pleasure to be proved correct when exactly that happened a few months later.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.
  • I very much hope the same but it is amazing what people will do to get their hands on £100 so this will seem like a windfall.

The contributors to the documents sent should be ashamed of themselves but they won't be because they allowed this to happen and attempt to convince members it a good thing for all. A good thing for them more like.

Yeah, cheers but nah, I will stick with yes,  thank you and no.

    Thank you.
  • The payment to members is derisory at best, and certainly when considered against demutualisations of the past is pitiful. That said as I only have a life insurance policy with a very low premium of a few pounds a month I will vote in favour as the sale will have no impact on my policy.

Very sad to see the loss of another great Mutual, and one of the few remaining.

LV= was a great organisation.  I didn't realise they had sold their insurance business.  I had both car and home insurance from them in the past, and would always prefer to deal with an organisation that exists to serve it's members rather than one that simply exists to maximise profits for shareholders.

    RIP.
  • I too am sorry to see LV trying to demutualise. Good to see I'm not alone. I will also be voting No.

LV has been insignificant for many years.  It needs new money and new ideas if it stands any hope of surviving.
