Cavity wall insulation solicitor and surveyor needed
Ailsawhite
I am 6 months down the line of trying to get the CWI company who (only partially) installed my insulation in 2017 to acknowledge they have done it incorrectly, not carried out proper pre-inspection, have claimed a grant for 100% installation when only 1 of the 3 walls have been filled, have caused damp & damage to my property & need to rectify this & pay me compensation for the works I need to do.
After their own re-inspection (no report given to me) & an ‘independent’ chartered surveyor inspection (again, they are refusing me the report) I have no clear info on what is in/not in my cavities other than only 1 wall has insulation in it. They want to re-install the CWI, replace loft installation (that they didn’t install), put trickle vents in & replace a damaged lintel that let some in water, all despite the claiming they have not caused the problems to my property. Alarm bells...
For 6 months I have requested the pre-installation paperwork as I know this was not completed/signed by me. When their findings on the ‘independent’ survey have come back, they have replied saying they are still not at fault & have sent me a photocopied pre-installation checklist with photos etc & my signature, in 2 places, quite clearly falsified. In my sceptical opinion, they have got the info they need now to be able to fill in this checklist 3 years later & that’s why they’ve now sent it to me.
I want to know my rights in forcing them to give me the inspection findings on my own property (we agreed mutually to have it done) & if I have no rights, need a reputable solicitor & surveyor to start from scratch so I actually know who is at fault & to fight them.
Any advice would be gratefully received. I am new to this forum so apologies if this is long winded

Instruct your own surveyor. As you need your own evidence to show they messed up / caused damage.
Contact several solicitors firms to see if they would take on this type of case, you need a litigation lawyer.
So far you have wasted at least 3 years chasing and getting nowhere, you only have 6 years from the date of their mess up to bring any court action for financial compensation.
No one knows which county you live in, let alone country as laws differ.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0 -
Why are you bothering with their own (presumabky biased) inspection/report?You will need an independant report by a reputable 3rd party professional. You'll have to pay for this.0
