Buying or renewing travel insurance when FCO advice not to travel applies?

Surely any policy already held or any one purchased now for leisure travel will be void for any Covid related claim until the FCO relaxes/changes its advice? I don't have one now and can't see any point in wasting money on buying one. I have no trips booked.

Well, yes, it does seem good money-saving advice not to spend money on travel insurance if you're not planning to travel!

you are correct , due to the uncertainty, I wouldn't travel abroad at present, in case a second outbreak and your stuck in a foreign country when they lockdown again"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

With no trips booked there is absolutely no point in paying for travel insurance. You wouldn't buy motor insurance if you didn't have a car would you?

Some people do have holidays booked for next year , specially those who opt to move their holiday from this year to next year.

The OP has said they have no holidays booked, so that is the question which is being answered. If they did have holiday booked the answer may well be different.sheramber said:Some people do have holidays booked for next year , specially those who opt to move their holiday from this year to next year.
