LBC Letter Before Claim

How to deal with a LBC (and all other stages of the legal processes leading to a possible court appearance) can be found in the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, second post. I'd suggest bookmarking it as it will be your 'Bible' going forward. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

This seems like an abuse of the car park to me. However, they have added an unlawful £60 so are fair game imo.
Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP, it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and has been known to get the charge cancelled.
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully, when life gets back to normal, it will become impossible for those scammers who are left to continue their vile trade, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.

You have lots of reading to do, starting with the NEWBIES thread.
Then, spend time reading the two abuse of process threads, where you will see the spankings the courts give VCS.

THEN you can ask VCS of their legal authority to add £60. You will see letters you can adapt here

They will either reply with a fantasy response which they will know will make a judge bring out the famous whip again. Or, they ignore you which is just as good because you can prove you tried to settle the matter and they ignored you which puts in doubt the reliability of their Witness statement and claim

hoopnstick said:Hi all, so the owner of vehicle received a PCN 03/05/2017 for parking and seen leaving the site (small convenience store), truth is the driver entered the store bought water then left the premises for 2 hours roughly, no proof of purchase unfortunately. Up to now all letters have been ‘ignored’ until receiving a LBC dated 01/06/2020 adding an additional £60 debt collection charge with a total bill now being £160.They haven’t included any photographic evidence with the LBC only a link with a ref number to view.Company in question is VCS.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
