Moving from Microsoft Office 2016 to Microsoft Office 365

Options
I will be downloading Office365 to my desktop computer which presently has Office2016.
Could you tell me please if there is anything I should be aware of before doing this.  I believe I will need to uninstall 2016 before downloading Office365.
I have Outlook2016 with some old emails on my Sky email account (which I now have to get off Yahoo because Sky doesn't support Outlook2016 anymore).  I would really like to transfer my new emails and old emails to Outlook in 365 without losing any.  What would be the best way of doing this?
If there is anything else I should be aware of before downloading,  I would be grateful if you could advise me.
Thanking you.

Still works perfectly fine for me.

Woah slow down a minute !!
Why are you moving to 365 from 2016 ?
You are aware that 365 is subscription based arent you ?
    Im guessing you have a stand-alone verion of 2016 that was a one-off payment , right ?

I dont understand the sentence about outlook and sky/yahoo
Who isnt supporting what anymore ?
I VERY much doubt that anybody isnt supporting outlook 2016 anymore

Please explain your situation a bit clearer so we can advise :)

Ok, apologies I am not very tech savvy.  I will try again.
A few months ago I wasn't receiving emails from Sky in Outlook. Also got an email from Sky to say I was using an out of date version of Outlook and that I would now only be able to access my emails from Yahoo.  I phoned up Sky and was told that I wouldn't be able to get my Sky emails through Outlook 2016.  Not happy with the Yahoo interface (very cluttered) but that's what I have been using since then.
I have been working from home (work uses Office 365) and I would like to upgrade to this, mainly for Powerpoint 2019 and Excel 2019 which are very slightly different to Powerpoint/Excel 2016.  Have a 30% discount on Microsoft Office 365 at 59.99 per year instead of 79.99.
Hoping I have explained myself better.  I appreciate that 365 is subscription based. Is there a cheaper way of getting this, yet being up to date as much as possible.
    Thank you.

I think you either misunderstood what the Sky support person said, or you got a dud support person.
It even says on their website that Outlook 2016 is supported https://www.sky.com/help/articles/getting-started-with-sky-yahoo-mail

    Recommended email apps

    • Apple Mail on iOS 9.0 or later
    • Apple Mail on macOS 10.11 El Capitan or later
    • Gmail on Android version 5.0 (Lollipop) or later
    • Outlook for iOS and Android
    • Outlook 365, 2016 and 2019 (Windows)
    • Windows 10 Mail
  • I think your problem is recognised by other Sky users who have given vent to their views on a Sky community thread (see link)
Some seem to have resolved the issue but others still struggling.
Must admit I would be very reluctant to spend £60 on an annual subscription service for Office 365.

Thank you all for your help.  I will hold off on 365 for now.  Thanks InspectorPerez - I see its a known issue with Outlook2016 and Sky email.
