Are you the Executor of your Dad's Estate? If you are then BG's claim that the billing on his Gas account cannot be re-visited, is HogwashAs Executor you you are bound by law to settle any debts with cash from the Estate and collect any debts owed to the Estate, which includes moneys overcharged by suppliers - The flip side of this is, had your Dad died oweing money to BG, they would most certainly have demanded payment from the Estate0

MWT unfortunately the 'b' is only a known issue on here its about time the energy companies recognised the problem, i wonder how mamy people (especially elderly) are paying on faulty meters ...a £2000 bill didnt set any red flags off at BG in this case0

Yes, I’m the executor. I don’t mind paying the electric off, or the water. But this huge bill is not going to get settled until after probate ends.dogshome said:Are you the Executor of your Dad's Estate? If you are then BG's claim that the billing on his Gas account cannot be re-visited, is HogwashAs Executor you you are bound by law to settle any debts with cash from the Estate and collect any debts owed to the Estate, which includes moneys overcharged by suppliers - The flip side of this is, had your Dad died oweing money to BG, they would most certainly have demanded payment from the EstateIt does look as though, whichever way it turns out, this will be going to the ombudsman. If I hadn’t enough to deal with, and then these keep sending me monthly bills with an additional £500 each month0 -
I can’t see a B on this meter. It’s directly on the incoming so shouldn’t have batteries should it? I can’t tamper with it, or move it.Matthaus73 said:MWT unfortunately the 'b' is only a known issue on here its about time the energy companies recognised the problem, i wonder how mamy people (especially elderly) are paying on faulty meters ...a £2000 bill didnt set any red flags off at BG in this caseThis Meter thread does seem consistent with this particular meter. So I bet it is that.0 -
You said it's the gas bill that's enormous? Smart gas meters have a long life battery instead of a mains connection. It relies on this battery to measure the gas consumption and then to send its readings wirelessly to the comms hardware associated with the smart electricity meter. Unfortunately it seems that these gas meter batteries can fail early, and as Matthaus73 has discovered, its gas readings can then go haywire. Libra meters do seem to have a poor record in this respect.subway98 said:
