uPVC adhesive recommendation

Have a set of garden furniture and sadly one of the cross members slats on one seat has developed a crack. It does not go all the way across so the seat is still usable.
My idea is to stick a strip of 6mm thick uPVC to the underside as a means of supporting the slat but retaining some degree of flexibilty. (The uPVC was left over from an external cladding job some years ago)
I've just bought some Evostick Liquid Nails on the recommendation of the local (village) DIY shop. However the instructions state that one surface must be porous and I don't think either the uPVC or the garden seat meat that criteria.
Any suggestions for a secure adhesive that will bond the surfaces but have some ability to flex without delaminating?

  • You could try plumber's solvent weld cement.  Make sure you read the instructions before using it.  Both surfaces would need to be uPVC.

HI - thanks for the suggestion. However I think the garden chair will be made from HDPE so may not be suitable for using with the plumber's weld adhesive.

Use solvent free no nails.  I used to attach alarm sensors to uPVC windows, still attached 10 years later
