Hi, I’m trying to find out my previous car insurer for proof of no claims discount - went into a company scheme about 3 years ago and can’t remember who my insurer was. Is there somewhere that hold this information centrally? Thanks

The MIB will hold that information, whether they'll release it to you is another matter.1

NCD generally lapses after two years without a policy.

It makes no difference.
If your NCB hasn't been used in three years, it's "died". Two years between policies is the usual maximum.0
