Really, if such a slight change of working hours is your only problem, yours must be a truly gilded life.

Apart from your annoyance, does this actually have a significant impact?  For example, unable to collect children from childcare?  That type of impact might solicit more sympathy and options for a constructive discussion with the boss.
You’re right I should be over the moon my employer wants to take 2 hours per week off me for nothing in return = 1.39% of my week. If it’s not a big deal give me 1.39% of your savings sure you won’t miss it.
I have complete sympathy with people who have bigger worries than me at this time but we’re not in a race to the bottom and if we don’t fight for the little this systems affords us they will keep taking until there’s nothing left to take.
At least learn to pick your battles... Your employer hasn't 'taken 2 hours off you in return for nothing. They are doing their best to keep the business afloat, but of course if you aren't bothered about it sinking and you losing your job... If this is such a huge deal, and the way you're bleating about it suggests that you think it is, go and get another job.
Folk like you would have been telling the serfs to go find a new master.

I can hear those little feet stamping with rage!

Im just bemused that you get 36 mins for lunch

When I worked a 37 hour paid week, we had 45 mins for 4 days 60 mins for the 5th

How do they work out 36 mins?

     9 - 5 over 5 days for a 37 hour working week would equate to 36min lunch a day

so my employer has came up with the bright idea of unilaterally increasing my lunch break from 36 mins to 1 hour so as my working pattern fits in better with their resource and planning. 24 mins * 5 = 2 hours therefore my working week is extended by 2 hours to suit them for a extended break I don’t want, need or get paid for. I’m really !!!!!! off about it tbh I have bent over backwards for them during this covid period and this is the thanks you get. Do I just need to suck it up?
What does your contract say concerning working hours?  Some are fixed, some state that you must work for a set number of hours a week at times to suit the employer and so on.  I can see why a change to an established routine might be irritating but, from personal experience, an hour's lunch can be quite beneficial.  I get an hour where I work and use the time to go shopping, do paperwork of my own, socialise and read.  It provides an opportunity to do all sorts of niggly little things during the week, which would otherwise have to be done in the evenings or at weekends.  You might find yourself gaining free time as a result of this.

I can understand why the OP is unhappy.  I worked for DWP, so had the same 7hr 24min working day.  We had to take a minimum of 30 minute break and that's all I took.  Getting away 1/2 an hour or so early really did make a major difference to my commute time as I missed the rush.  On the odd occasions when I did have to work later, my commute time could easily be tripled.
Unfortunately there is little the OP can do about it.  If they try to stick to their current hours, implementation of the disciplinary process is virtually certain.

Thanks to COVID19 the world has changed. The problem is that many people aren't willing to accept that the changes could have an impact on them which they don't like. OP seems to be a classic case of just this sort of overblown outrage.

Completely outrageous that an employer should expect an employee to do anything to meet the needs of the business, especially  at a time of national crisis. Far better to hold out for a shorter lunch break and hope the lack of your 24 minutes a day will soon consign such an inconsiderate employer to the dustbin, ensuring all employees no longer have to work for them because their jobs won't exist.

    That'll show 'em!
