IWeb - veeery slow ISA transfer...

Over 3 weeks now and still my money has not arrived from HL or Dudley BS. Chased three times via IWeb online chat and told a pack of untruths, "in Hand", "have written last week", and the last one with a person/bot that just had not got a clue. A request for a call back on the phone completely ignored as though i was talking to myself.
A telephone call to Dudley BS last Saturday informed me that they have received no contact from IWeb Re. my ISA whatever!
I realise covid is having an impact with many businesses but do object very much to being lied to. What a shower. Any body else had problems with them in this area?

I'm assuming this is purely cash you're transferring over? If there are any funds/shares included, be aware this could take months & wouldn't be down to iweb, but the original provider. I transferred my S&S over to iweb about 18 months ago & it took about 4 months in total. I wasn't too bothered as my money was still invested in the funds I wanted & was transferring purely to save on IFA & platform charges & I'd been warned by iweb that the platform provider I was transferring from could be rather slow.

I had a couple of phone queries to iweb in the early days of investing with them & found the phone answered very quickly & staff very helpful. I think you really do need to be more patient & understanding due to the issues thrown up by the virus lockdown etc. Plus it's wrong to  assume that iweb is telling you  untruths & Dudley BS is not.

Patience is something we're all going to need a lot of in the coming months, with having to queue & wait our turn, whether in shops or on the phone, thanks to Covid19. It's a price we have to pay in trying to combat the virus.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

In my experience of transferring to iWeb, it has been the other party causing the delays.
  • I did one ISA cash transfer to them around March and I had to wait over a month. Eventually it arrived and everything it fine.
  • Also waiting on my ISA going from VG to iWeb. Slow indeed.

Aren't the guidelines a 1-month transfer max?  Admittedly, trying times.

On chasing them this morning they have advised they have not received my signed transfer form (sent weeks ago), back to the start for me. Just as well I’m happy enough for my ISA to be out of the markets for now.
On a positive note, they were very quick to answer the phone.

Just an update to my ongoing ISA transfer saga with Iweb. Last Friday I had a text saying that they had now received my forms! These were sent a month previously by me, and their receipt by Iweb had been confirmed in three separate 'online chats' with three different people (or 'names' anyway). So this SMS message is lie number four. As I said in my original post, I know Covid is affecting businesses, but this conduct by Iweb is a bit beyond the pale to me. A straight 'we are struggling but can you bear with us' would have been better than outright deceit in my view. Their website stated they were taking in Cash ISA transfers at the time of my applying - in truth, if they haven't the capability to conduct such business at present, well, they jolly well should not solicit for it in the first place and waste a new customers time.
Keep socially distancing - it might be someone you give it to that cops it.
