I received an email from Argos card services as the account has not been used for quite a while they are closing the account in two months and have advised me to tear up the card. However I would like to. use the card for some purchases and wandered if I use the card now would it stop the account from being closed. Hopefully someone on this site has experienced the same issue. I tried phoning them but there was a long waiting time.

They are probably clearing down a number of dormant accounts through a lack use - I’m sure if you gave them a quick call, or sent them a secure message if that facility is available, they’d remove your account from the list of those they want to close. There’s bound to a be a handful of people who want to do the same who have received the same
notice, so just drop them a line and see what they say. Come back and update us once you’ve spoken with them.
