The relevant legislation seems to be the Vehicle Excise and Registration Act 1994, Schedule 2, para 19(1): "A vehicle is an exempt vehicle when it is being used, or kept for use, by or for the purposes of a disabled person ..."Seems pretty clear.0

Thanks for all the helpful answers, in the past we used her car so I put mine off the road and as her carer (not officially) I took her everywhere shopping, doctors, hospital and such and she would drop me off at my home as she felt safe driving from mine to hers. Fast forward to now and she has sold her car and given up driving, so for me to continue I would have my car back on the road at my home and only use it to drive to hers and do shopping for her then drive home.Thanks0
