Questioning my eligibility to claim seiss

Hi all,
I claimed the first seiss grant as I didn't work for four weeks solid then when I did go back to work it was not constant work so I believe I was entitled to claim.
As we are approaching the start of the second grant I am now fully back to work(self employed tradesman), however my girlfriend has been told she must go back to work on the 1st july and we have no childcare(usually grandma).
I am now forced to take two days off work per week from the 1st july to look after the kids as with current gov guidelines they can't go to someone else's house.
Does this make me eligible to claim the second grant.

A few questions. Does Grandma live alone, if so has she received the shielding letter? Do you live in England?

Hi poppy, grandma does not live alone and as far as I'm aware has not received a shielding letter.0

If that's still the position at 14 July, I would say you are eligible:
"Your business could be adversely affected by coronavirus if, for example:
- you’re unable to work because you:
- are shielding
- are self-isolating
- are on sick leave because of coronavirus
- have caring responsibilities because of coronavirus
- you’ve had to scale down or temporarily stop trading because:
- your supply chain has been interrupted
- you have fewer or no customers or clients
- your staff are unable to come in to work
Find examples of when the ‘adversely affected’ criteria will be met."
0 - you’re unable to work because you:

Thanks Jeremy,
I have seen this information but I have just read a news article about how the government has powers to claim back Grant's and loans they deemed where unnecessarly claimed and it just scared me a little as I dont want to claim and have to give money back. I have savings in the bank also, does this have any bearing on whether I should claim or not.0 -
SEISS is not means tested, so your savings are irrelevant. If you lose 2 days a week of work because of childcare responsibilities that would not arise without coronavirus, you appear to qualify. I don't think Grandma can be in a "bubble" with your family if she doesn't live alone, and presumably you would have to pay for any other childcare, if you could find it.jambo1983 said:Thanks Jeremy,
