Probate accounts question

Options
Hi All. Elderly relative with three Adult children. One child died a few years ago leaving 2 children, and 4 grandchildren (grandchildren from the deceased child).  18 months before The death Of the elderly relative, she makes a new will leaving everything to the remaining two siblings (who were executors). It was said the relative had very little estate left after Care home bills. Funeral. Probate granted - certificate shows net value of estate £110k split between The 2 Children.  Can we get the accounts via public record? It is clear a late notice will change took place to take the 4 grandchildren out of the equation - does £110k net mean just that...? that is what was left over for sharing?

I would not call 18 months before death a last minute change. The only people entitled to estate accounts are the residuary beneficiaries they are not public documents.

The £110k figure is the amount payable after funeral costs, executors expenses and any debts are paid.

IANAL but why do you think the accounts are relevant to the question of why she created a new will ?
As per KP, if you've not been left anything (or, AFAIK, even if you have but its a specific amount or thing) you arent entitled to see the accounts. They are, after all, literally nothing to do with you. If you coudl see them, so could I, or anyone else.
Re the net value, yes thats the amount unless there was any money in a pension , thats not counted.
