2nd job while furloughed

    It does though makes it quite difficult in this virus situation to go out and get another job, which wasn't what I thought when I saw the headlines about furloughed staff joining fruitpickers or Tesco. 
    It might even make it worse as before you actually get the job you have to ask. 

    Judging from both people I know and the media it does seem that existing employers have been quite happy to allow staff to take additional jobs in lockdown, I do no think there have been many refusals. I have friends who went to work in the local hospital as admin and cleaning and family who took supermarket jobs during furlough. None of my staff have done so or asked even though I made it clear that unless it was a conflict of interest I would sign it off, but they are all on 100% so they have just been treating it as a paid holiday, although I am glad they are all keen to get back to work as well.
