Yep I have a G7 so, when connected to your phone netwrok go to settings --- network & internet --- Hotspot and Tethering --- Wi-fi hotspot

What are the pro's and con's of using wiFi instead of USB tethering?

Obvious one is you can set Windows Update not to run on a metered connection,, I don't think you can do that with USB tethering, at least I haven't seen a way fo doing it.

You could also use it with say a tablet or your Tv if wifi enabled. Of course you will eat into mobile data the more devices you hook up. Cons not many I can think of . You can also charge your phone on a charging brick away from the laptop without using a USB port on your lappy.
